Credit Assistant

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Credit Assistants role is to act as and administrator for the Credit Department.  The Credit Assistant’s main priorities are to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Credit Department in the following areas; Customer Service, account administration, and processing card payments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  •  Releasing immediate orders O.A.C.
  •  Processing all Credit Card transactions
  •  Ensuring future card transactions are logged
  •  Conducting post dated cheque calls, to ensure cheques are ready upon delivery
  •  Tracking missing payments from freight companies
  •  Customer Service calls as related to Credit and AR matters
  •  Ensuring credit applications are complete and initiating credit reference requests
  •  Replying to credit reference requests from other companies
  •  Creating and maintaining customer accounts in our database
  •  Initiating credit recalls
  •  Filling and department administration
  •  Basic collections
  •  Internal Customer Service
  •  Assisting the credit manager with new projects as requested

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING:

  •  Experience in Collections, AR or other Credit related role
  •  A drive to succeed and exceptional organizational skills
  •  Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality
  •  ERP software experience
  •  Excellent communication & analytical skills
  •  Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  •  Ability to work well under pressure and take ownership
  •  Good negotiation and problem solving skills
  • French language is an asset
